Brasília wasn’t the only architectural visit to Brasil we made this year. If you’re in the neighbourhood you should of course take your time and admire all that is on offer. Our base was Rio de Janeiro, that beautiful, grimy, confusing and fascinating city. A brief impression of that ‘marvellous city’ follows, with some added sprinkling of Niteroi by Oscar Niemeyer.
