Now that the holidays are over it is time to reflect upon the excellent work of my students this last semester at the Faculty of Architecture, TU Delft for Design 3: City and Public Space. Please click on the link below to get an impression of their hard work.
For 2nd year students this course is their first experience with urbanism in which we help them to suggest a densification of the Land of Hoboken, Rotterdam. Our focus is on environmental technology and its methods to create a healthy microclimate and to prepare the city for a more sustainable future whilst dealing with among others climate change. The end results are strategic proposal for area on two different scales, followed by an extensive, written argumentation developed as a team, culminating in an individual design suggestion with a new programme of around 45.000 m2.
